i got back from new york yesterday evening, and i’ve spent the past couple of days getting settled back in to greensboro. it’s always such an experience going to new york.
i got to check out lamonte young’s dreamhouse, and i have to say it was incredible. i’ve never heard music in such a physical way before. the intallation changes your perception of everything, from hearing to touch. i couldn’t believe it when i realized i’d been sitting on a pillow on the floor for an hour.
jim combs was good enough to post the recording from my set at city skies on the 9th. you can check it out here. the first piece is an untitled piece, which hasn’t been recorded yet. the second is climates, which should be coming out on echolocation records sometime soon.
