i said i would try to lay low for april and may, yet of course that didn’t quite happen.

April 11th – Maya Performance Space – Greensboro, NC

I’ll be playing guitar in Reed Benjamin’s Monument project. He writes beautiful acoustic pop songs, and I space them out. I believe there will also be drums and violin this night as well.

April 17th – Maya Performance Space – Greensboro, NC

April 18th – Signal Fest, Nightlight – Chapel Hill, NC

These will be AW + AM shows. We’ve got some good stuff planned. Expect minimal glitchy prepared guitar.

May 2nd – The Good Cherry – Lynchburg, VA

This show will be the third Andrew Weathers + Joe Morgan show. Expect expansive ambient jams. CJ Boyd is playing this show also.

May 8th – Thee Rosemont – Charlotte, NC

May 9th – City Skies Electronic Music Festival – Decatur, GA

Thee Rosemont is a hallway in a house apparently, and should be great. Bob Fields is also playing. City Skies was great in October, I believe Duet for Theremin and Lap Steel is also playing. This is also my birthday weekend; I never even pause, not for anything.

May 17th – C.O.M.A. at ABC No Rio – Manhattan, NY

May 18th – MonkeyTown – Brooklyn, NY

C.O.M.A. is a weekly improvisational music event that’s been at ABC No Rio for quite a while. I’m excited to play at ABC No Rio. I’ve heard the name often, ever since my zine days. I’ll be doing the featured set for the night, playing with a great guitarist named Jeffery Thompson. I found him because he did a residency at the Elsewhere Collaborative here in Greensboro, and we traded cds. I’ve become a big fan of his stuff.

The MonkeyTown show should also be great. It’s been my favorite venue to play in the city. I’ll be playing a composed piece of mine. ( ) and Ian Epps will also play. I’ve played two shows with both of them before, and they’ve been great. These two make some fantastic music. Keep in mind that to check out a show at MonkeyTown, you need to make reservations in advance.
